Elizabeth D. Seiter, MD, FAAP


Combining her medical practice with love of family and service to the community along with several personal hobbies makes for a full life for Dr. Elizabeth D. Seiter. She earned her B.S. in 1983 from Loyola University in New Orleans, her M.S. in Medical Genetics in 1985 from the University of Alabama-Birmingham, and her M.D. in 1989 also from the University of Alabama-Birmingham. She performed her medical residency in Pediatrics through Children’s Hospital of Alabama at UAB, completing her program in 1992. Afterwards she entered into a private pediatric practice in Baton Rouge, her home town. In 1996 her pediatric group merged with The Baton Rouge Clinic.

Dr. Elizabeth Seiter is currently licensed to practice medicine in the state of Louisiana and has held licensure in the state of Alabama. She is board certified in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. Among her many professional organizations and boards is her service as the first female Chief of Staff of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, past service as Chief of Pediatrics of Woman’s Hospital and service as a member of both the Medical Executive Committee and Board of Our Lady of the Lake.

She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Board of Pediatrics, the Louisiana Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Louisiana State Medical Society, and is a past member of the American Medical Association. She has served as Chairman of the Recruiting Committee of The Baton Rouge Clinic and a member of the Pediatric Obesity Workforce (POW) of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.

Civically, Dr. Seiter is a member of St. Aloysius Church Parish, was previously on the Board of Directors of Camp Fire of Baton Rouge and has served as volunteer physician for Boys Hope. She also has participated as a leader in the St. Joseph’s Academy Campaign for Advancement.

In her private time, Dr. Seiter enjoys family time, cooking, fitness, bicycling, and participating in sprint triathlons.
