Most athletes don’t think twice about suiting up with a helmet, padding or other protective gear before heading out on the field, court or rink. But there’s one important piece of equipment that’s often neglected – and that’s protection for your eyes.

Why is it so important to protect your eyes when playing sports? Because emergency rooms in the U.S. treat sports-related eye injuries every 13 minutes, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
