Lung cancer is the second most common cancer diagnosed in both men and women in the U.S. (not counting skin cancers), according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It is also by far the leading cause of cancer deaths.

There is no guaranteed way to prevent lung cancer. But as this infographic shows, there a number of things you can do to make it less likely you’ll develop the disease. The most effective way to reduce your lung cancer risk is to not smoke.
