Dr. Messan Dodji Folivi is a native of Lome, Togo in West Africa, a francophone country. He participated in an accelerated program of ESL (English as Second Language) curriculum at Robert E. Lee High School, finishing the curriculum in 3 semesters. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences from Southern University in 2013, and his Masters of Health Sciences Degree in 2014, from Meharry Medical College – School of Graduate Studies and Research in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Folivi earned his Medical Degree from Meharry Medical College – School of Medicine in 2018, and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas in Houston in 2021.

Dr. Folivi is currently licensed to practice medicine in the State of Louisiana and Texas. He is a member of the American College of Physicians (ACP), the American Medical Association (AMA), and the Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA). Dr. Folivi also received a Cancer Research Program Certification from the National Cancer Institute of Bethesda, Maryland in August of 2015.

While not at the office, Dr. Folivi enjoys playing soccer and mountain biking, which he picked up during his time in Tennessee. He is currently engaged to his fiancée, Jessica. He speaks three languages fluently, those being English, French, and Ewe (the native dialect spoken in Togo), but he also speaks a little Spanish, but at a novice level.
