Dr. Taylor Gwin earned his Medical Degree from Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans in 2008, while also earning a Master’s Degree in Public Health. In 2013, he completed his residency in General Surgery, followed by the completion of his fellowship in Vascular Surgery in 2015. During training he was given awards for excellence in Clinical Surgery, both in General Surgery and in Vascular Surgery. He is currently licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana and Texas, and is board certified in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery.
Since completing training, he has been a member of The Vascular Clinic and has engaged in the treatment of Aneurysmal Disease, Dialysis Access and Related Issues, Cerebrovascular Disease, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Varicose Vein Disease, and Chronic Venous Disease. Dr. Gwin is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI), a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of numerous other academic organizations such as the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery and the Society for Vascular Surgery. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor with the Department of Surgery at Louisiana State University Health Science Center, where he is involved in the education of both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery Residents, as well as Vascular Fellows. He joined The Baton Rouge Clinic in January of 2021, and is accepting new patients.
Dr. Gwin is a native of Baton Rouge and attended Louisiana State University for his undergraduate work. He remains a diehard fan of LSU football and baseball. He and his wife, Lauren, are the proud parents of three daughters, Colette, Sophie, and Marcelle. When not working or with his family, Dr. Gwin enjoys distance running and the occasional round of golf.
