A native of South Louisiana, Bethany Bowden received her B.S. in Nursing from the LSU School of Nursing in New Orleans in 1993. For two years, she worked at The Baton Rouge General Mid-City in the Oncology department before arriving at The Baton Rouge Clinic in 1995.

Bethany initially developed and ran the Diabetes Education Program at The Baton Rouge Clinic and worked as a certified diabetes educator in the department from 1995-2007. At this time, she decided to return to the LSU School of Nursing in New Orleans to work on her Masters in Nursing, completing the program in the spring of 2010. She returned to work at The Baton Rouge Clinic as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the Endocrinology department.

Bethany is licensed as an RN and as an FNP in the state of Louisiana, and she currently holds certification as a diabetes educator and as a family nurse practitioner. Involved in the community, she is a member of both the Camp Victory Board for the American Diabetes Association and the Louisiana Lions Camp. She is married with three children and enjoys cooking in her free time.
