Thomas Lorando is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and psychotherapist whose primary focus is on providing individual, group, and family psychotherapy for adults. He brings a wide range of experiences across a full spectrum of mental health care in the greater Baton Rouge community, including shelter work in the 2016 flood relief efforts, emergency room crisis intervention and coordination, inpatient clinical and casework, intensive outpatient (IOP) programs after hospitalizations, and outpatient psychotherapy. Prior to joining the Baton Rouge Clinic, AMC – Psychiatry, he worked in the ER, Behavioral Health Unit, and Behavioral Wellness Center at Baton Rouge General.
Thomas’s practice is a compassionate and collaborative space designed to support the client on their path to growth, mindfulness, and acceptance, specializing in approaches in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy, and other mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Thomas is a New Orleans and North Shore native who earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology and his Master’s Degree in Social Work from Louisiana State University. He is married, finding happiness in quality time with family, and his passion for music and playing the guitar.
