SUMMARY
Responsibilities include supervision of nursing staff; interviewing, hiring, and training patient care employees; preparation of employee work schedules; assignment of employee duties; addressing complaints and resolving problems; evaluation of nursing activities to ensure quality patient care; ordering supplies for clinic physicians; and enforcing OSHA requirements and guidelines.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consults with the Director of Clinic Operations and Regional Administrator concerning administration issues and problems.
- Directs and supervises nursing service personnel in accordance with clinic, governmental and other regulatory standards.
- Participates in development of departmental goals and objectives
- Recommends departmental policies and procedures. Updates and maintains nursing procedure manual as needed.
- Review and approves payroll records under the guidance of the Regional Administrator and Director of Clinic Operations.
- Supervises patient care needs and suggest solutions to patient care crisis problems.
- Design work schedules, hours, and duty assignments. Assesses staffing patterns and recommends changes.
- Assists in selection, training/orientation, and performance evaluation of departmental personnel.
- Assist in developing and conducting nursing/medical assistant educational programs to staff.
- Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
- Participates in professional development and maintains professional affiliations.
- Maintains patient confidentiality
- Rotates being a weekend phone-resource for the Walk In Clinic with other nursing leaders.
- Teaches BLS classes for clinical staff on an as needed basis.
- Other duties may be assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists the Director of Clinic Operations in supervising in the Nursing Department.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• BLS Certification required, ACLS certification encouraged
• Will provide BLS Instructor certification
Specific Skills Required
• Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One-year experience in clinic setting preferred.
• Excellent Communication Skills
• EPIC EMR Experience preferred
