Coding Specialist
Job Description
Experienced Certified Professional Coder needed to work closely with medical staff and reimbursement department in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding of services performed by the providers in a multi-specialty clinic setting. This position will abstract medical records to identify specific clinical findings to support existing CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS codes or substantiate listing additional CPT ICD-10 and HCPCS as supported in the medical record. The position will perform other duties as assigned by management. Not a Remote Position.

Basic Skills Required
Specific Skills Required
CPC or CCS certification required
Additional Certifications preferred CGIS, CGSC, CPCD, CUC
Epic experience preferred
Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, techniques and surgical procedures; anatomy and physiology; major disease processes; pharmacology
Extensive knowledge of official coding conventions and rules.

Position requires strong surgical coding experience in more than one of the following specialties: General Surgery, Dermatology, Vascular, Urology, ENT, Urology, Otolaryngology, GI and Urology.
Salary based on qualifications and experience.

High School Diploma; Coding certification CPC or CCS with 2 years coding experience.
Unit of Pay: Hourly
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm; schedule may vary as needed
