Ophthalmic Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Optometry Technician to assist the Optometrist with the vision correction of patients. The optometry technician will help with eye examinations, perform clerical duties, and maintain and clean the examination equipment. In this role, you will provide a wide variety of patient care activities and clerical duties to assist the physician in the office setting and uses the knowledge base to provide professional assistance to the physicians, staff, and patients.
Duties
- Assist ophthalmologists in providing patient care
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient visits
- Take patient medical history and document relevant information
- Perform diagnostic tests, such as visual acuity, tonometry, and lensometry
- Assist with minor procedures and treatments
- Clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment

Basic Skills Required
Excellent communication skills
Prior experience in clinic setting
Specific Skills Required
Experience with an Optometrist required
COA or COT Certification preferred

Education Required
Certification Varies. If not presently certified, you will be given a 3-6 month probational period to successfully complete certification.
Unit of Pay: Hourly
Shift: Monday-Friday; 8am-5pm; schedule may vary as needed
