Registered Nurse (RN) – Infusion Services The Baton Rouge Clinic, AMC
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Infusion Services team at The Baton Rouge Clinic, AMC. In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients receiving intravenous therapies in a safe, comfortable, and patient-centered environment.
As an Infusion Nurse, you will play a critical role in delivering specialized treatments while ensuring patient safety, education, and support throughout the infusion process.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer IV infusions, injections, and specialty medications per physician orders and established protocols
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after infusion therapy
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately to infusion-related complications
- Initiate and maintain peripheral IV access and manage central lines (PICC, ports) as indicated
- Provide patient education regarding medications, potential side effects, and post-infusion care
- Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
- Coordinate with physicians, pharmacists, and clinical staff to optimize patient care plans
- Maintain infusion equipment and ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards
- Verify medication orders, dosages, and compatibility according to best practice guidelines
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana
- Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience (Infusion, Oncology, Rheumatology, or Specialty Care preferred)
- Experience with IV therapy and central line management
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced outpatient setting
