Originally from Opelousas, Dr. Donald W. Doucet attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge before setting his sights on LSU New Orleans, where he earned his Medical Degree in 1982. He moved back to Baton Rouge to perform his Residency in Internal Medicine at the former Earl K. Long Medical Center, which he completed in 1985. After his Residency, Dr. Doucet moved to New Roads, LA to start his practice and has lived and worked there ever since. After almost 30 years in private practice, Dr. Doucet joined The Baton Rouge Clinic with his daughter Dr. Ashley Bordelon in the summer of 2015.
Dr. Doucet is licensed to practice in the state of Louisiana and is certified with American Board of Internal Medicine. A Fellow of the American College of Physicians, he is also a member of the Louisiana State Medical Society, the Pointe Coupee Parish Medical Society, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
In addition to working full time, Dr. Donald W. Doucet is also an active member in the New Roads community. In the past, he has served as president of the New Roads Lions Club and as the New Roads Mardi Gras King. Currently Dr. Doucet serves on the Board of the Pointe Coupee Health Services District as well as on the Guaranty Bank and Trust Company Board.
Outside of spending time with his wife Madeline and their three children, Dr. Donald W. Doucet enjoys saltwater fishing, watching LSU sports, and designing and building furniture.
