Dr. Gerard J. Dynes performed his undergraduate studies at Manhattan College in New York and earned his M.D. from the New York University School of Medicine in 1994. His medical training continued with his medical residency in Neurology being completed in 1998 at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York. In 1999, he earned a fellowship in Electromyography (EMG) and neuromuscular disorders at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. That same year Dr. Gerard Dynes joined The Baton Rouge Clinic and, with his wife and children, made Baton Rouge their home.
He is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology and is a member of the American Academy of Neurology. Dr. Gerard J. Dynes is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Louisiana. His professional interests include the prevention and treatment of Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and the management of spasticity, including the use of Intrathecal Baclofen pumps.
Active in his community, Dr. Dynes has served as head of the Missions Committee of Jefferson United Methodist Church. He is also an Adult Leader for the Boy Scouts of America. Among his interests outside of the field of medicine are music and film.
