Being a lifelong resident of the South, Dr. Joseph N. Redhead clearly understands the issues of his patients who suffer from asthma and allergies. Practicing in the field of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, Dr. Redhead is a native of Natchez, Mississippi who earned his B.A. from the University of Mississippi in 1984 and his M.D. in 1988. He then performed his Internal Medicine residency through the University of Florida, completing his program in 1991. He also holds a Fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology from the University of Colorado and National Jewish Center.

Dr. Redhead is board-certified in Allergy and Clinical Immunology and is licensed to practice in the state of Louisiana. He serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Tulane University in New Orleans and is a member of the Louisiana Allergy Society. His medical career spans more than two decades, and for many years he has been selected by his peers to the Best Doctors in America list, an honor given annually to physicians across the nation from more than 40 specialties.

A member of St. James Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge, Dr. Redhead is married with three children and, in his spare time, enjoys a wide array of sports as well as hunting. He and his family make Baton Rouge their home.

Dr. Joseph Redhead was chosen as the Runner-Up of Baton Rouge Parents Magazine’s Family Favorite Allergist for 2023! He has previously won this award in 2022 and was named Winner of Baton Rouge Parents Magazine’s Family Favorite Allergist in 2021! The awards are held annually through Baton Rouge Parents Magazine, and all nominations are submitted by readers around the Baton Rouge area. Thank you to all who participated!
