Dr. Matthew J. Rolfsen, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, earned his Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Georgia in 2011 and his Medical Degree from Louisiana State University Health and Science Center – New Orleans in 2015. Dr. Rolfsen completed his residency in Internal Medicine at The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in 2018 and his residency in Gastroenterology at MUSC in 2021. He joined The Baton Rouge Clinic’s Gastroenterology Department in December of 2023.
Dr. Rolfsen has been practicing medicine for a couple of years, previously working at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. He is board-certified in Gastroenterology and is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Louisiana. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Dr. Rolfsen attended Catholic High School in Baton Rouge and is a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. He is married and has one child. When not at the office, Dr. Rolfsen enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, playing tennis, and watching the Saints and the Pelicans games.
