USĀ Air Force veteran Dr. Robert C. Hinkle is a specialist in Pulmonology and Critical Care medicine but has a special interest in helping patients with sleep disorders, being board certified by the American Board of Sleep Medicine.

A native of Hinsdale, Illinois, Dr. Hinkle performed his undergraduate studies at Purdue University and earned his M.D. from the University of Chicago in 1993. He then performed his medical residency and internship at the David Grant US Air Force Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base in California, completing his program in 1996. He continued his medical education earning a fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care and Sleep Medicine from the Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas in 1999.

As part of his military service, Dr. Hinkle served several tours in the Middle East and Afghanistan and earned the Afghanistan Campaign Medal and the Army Commendation Medal for his service. After his honorable discharge, he entered into private medical practice in San Antonio, Texas, and Racine, Wisconsin before joining The Baton Rouge Clinic and making Baton Rouge his home with his wife, Endocrinologist Dr. Jeannemarie Hinkle, and three children.

Licensed in the state of Louisiana, Dr. Hinkle is certified in the areas of Internal, Pulmonary, Sleep, and Critical Care Medicine and is a member of the Capital Area Medical Society. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Among his many hobbies are flying, playing the guitar, and being a home brewer of unique beers.
