Desiree Lafleur, a Louisiana native, was born and raised in Lafayette. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from Louisiana State University in 2008, and then completed a Dietetic Internship at North Oaks Medical Center in 2009.
From 2009-2013 Desiree worked at Lakeview Regional and St. Tammany Parish Hospitals. For the past 5 years she was an outpatient dietitian at Lallie Kemp Medical Center in Independence. She provided individual and class education in medical nutrition therapy for diabetes, weight loss, oncology, renal, cardiology, and infectious disease conditions. In 2018 Desiree joined The Baton Rouge Clinic as a Clinical Dietitian and Diabetes Educator.
Desiree is married and enjoys cheering for the LSU Fighting Tigers, reading, playing board games, visiting with friends and family, and taking care of her cat and dog.
