Vincent V. Tumminello, Jr., MD

With New Orleans as a home town, one gets off to a great start understanding the people and culture of Louisiana.

Dr. Tumminello brings that understanding and the spirit of that great city with him into his nearly three decades of practice in the field of Internal Medicine. Coming to Baton Rouge for his advanced education, he earned his B.S. from LSU in 1980 and his M.D., also from LSU, in 1985. Leaving his home state briefly to complete his medical residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he served as Chief Medical Resident and Instructor of Medicine from 1988-89, he then returned to Louisiana to begin his practice with The Baton Rouge Clinic. He served as President of the Board of The Baton Rouge Clinic from 2005-07.

Among his professional organizations and associations, Dr. Tumminello was the Founder of the Alabama Chief Residents Society, is a member of the East Baton Rouge Parish Medical Society, is a member of the American Medical Association, and serves as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine. At The Baton Rouge Clinic, he is an internal medicine, primary care physician.

He combines his love of sports, youth, and medicine in his service as Team Physician for Catholic High School in Baton Rouge. He is a member of the Hermes Carnival Krewe, and, when not practicing medicine and helping at CHS, he enjoys fishing and spending family time with his wife and four children.
