Alexis Brown Ford, DO

Dr. Alexis Brown Ford is a native of Baton Rouge, LA, and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Nutritional Sciences from Louisiana State University in 2015 and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, Georgia in 2020. Dr. Ford completed her residency in Family Medicine at Memorial Health University Medical Center (MHUMC) in Savannah, GA in 2023. She joined The Baton Rouge Clinic’s Hospital Medicine Group in the Summer of 2023.

Dr. Ford is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Louisiana. Her professional interest includes equitable care, discussions of care/end-of-life goals, lifestyle medicine, and improving access to care after hospital discharge.  Dr. Ford holds a certification in Point-of-care Ultrasonography (POCUS) and is certified in Lifestyle Medicine by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians, the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians (GAFP), the American Medical Writers Association, and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecology. Throughout her career, Dr. Ford has served on the board of the GAFP Legislative Working Group from June 2021 – March 2022, has served as a committee member for the MHUMC’s Critical Care Committee and is a member of The Red Shoes.

Dr. Ford is married to her husband, Josh, and together they have one son. When not at the office, she enjoys creating new healthy meals for her family, gardening, hiking in the Appalachian Mountains, and traveling the world.
