Full-Time - The Baton Rouge Clinic, AMC in New Roads, LA is currently seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide quality nursing care services to the patients of our Internal Medicine clinic and physicians. In this position, the CMA will assist physicians with patient care, scheduling, injections, pre-cert procedures, referrals, Rx call-ins, and phone triage.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Provides patient care as a member of the health care team within scope of license.
• Follows nursing policies, procedures, and protocols and implements appropriately in the care of adult and pediatric patients.
• Provides instructions to patients regarding treatment plan, medications and follow-up.
• Communicates effectively with other members of the health care team including accurate documentation in patient medical records.
• Greets patients with a smile, completion of registration forms, and gives instructions
• Interview patients while recording and updating medical information (history, chief complaint) and medications etc. into the myChart
• Prepares patients for examinations and performs routine screening tests
• Provides patient education with regards to medications and instructions set forth by the provider to manage their health
• Triages emergency situations
• Prepares and administers medications with physician authorization
• Refill requests and Prior Authorizations for medications

Full-Time - We are seeking a dedicated Optometry Technician to assist the Optometrist with the vision correction of patients. The optometry technician will help with eye examinations, perform clerical duties, and maintain and clean the examination equipment. In this role, you will provide a wide variety of patient care activities and clerical duties to assist the physician in the office setting and uses the knowledge base to provide professional assistance to the physicians, staff, and patients.

Duties
- Assist ophthalmologists in providing patient care
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient visits
- Take patient medical history and document relevant information
- Perform diagnostic tests, such as visual acuity, tonometry, and lensometry
- Assist with minor procedures and treatments
- Clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment

PRN - RN/LPNs needed to administer vaccinations for the BRC Flu Clinic.
This will be a temporary PRN position during flu season.

Full-Time - The Clinical Educator works in healthcare settings to educate and mentor clinical staff, as well as improve medical practices for patients.
Their responsibilities include:

• Train EPIC EMR and routine check up on staff
• Orient new employees (clinic, processes, general rules)
• Skills lab - develop and implement annual/as needed training/checkoffs
• Train clinical skills to clinical staff based on observed needs and priorities (assessing vital signs, med administration, etc.)
• Create a process for new employee follow-up & evaluation (e.g. 45 days; 90 days; 6 month) to increase confidence, competence and accountability
• Implement a “train-the-trainer" process to orient and keep preceptor’s current with BRC skills and processes
• Attend staff meetings to discuss “Need to know” training topics/changes
• Provide on-site training for satellite offices & new practice start-up
• Assist nursing leaders with employee remediation training
• Other duties as needed

Full-Time - The Baton Rouge Clinic, AMC is currently recruiting an Assistant Director of Nursing for our multi-specialty medical clinic. Successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse, possess strong managerial skills; experienced in interviewing, hiring, and training patient care employees; preparing employee work schedules and assignment of duties; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Also responsible for evaluating nursing activities to ensure quality patient care; ordering supplies for clinic physicians; and enforcing OSHA requirements and guidelines.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Consults with the Director of Patient Care concerning administration issues and problems. Assumes responsibility for department in absence of director
• Directs and supervises nursing service personnel in accordance with clinic, governmental and other regulatory standards.
• Participates in development of departmental goals and objectives
• Recommends departmental policies and procedures. Updates and maintains nursing procedure manual.
• Review and approves payroll records under the guidance of the Director of Patient Care.
• Supervises patient care needs and suggest solutions to patient care crisis problems.
• Design work schedules, hours, and duty assignments. Assesses staffing patterns and recommends changes.
• Assists in selection, training/orientation, and performance evaluation of departmental personnel.
• Assist in developing and conducting nursing/medical assistant educational programs to staff.
• Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
• Participates in professional development and maintains professional affiliations.
• Maintains patient confidentiality
