A specialist in Otolaryngology, Dr. Brian J. Petit, a New Orleans native, has been a member of the Baton Rouge Clinic family of physicians since 1999.
Dr. Petit completed his undergraduate studies at LSU in 1980 and earned his M.D. from the LSU School of Medicine in 1984. His Surgery residency was performed through Emory University in Atlanta followed by his completing a fellowship in Head & Neck Surgery with The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Petit performed an Otolaryngology residency with LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans in 1990 and following, entered into private practice in Baton Rouge prior to joining The Baton Rouge Clinic.
Throughout his medical career, Dr. Brian J. Petit has been involved in continuing his professional education and helping in the education of others in the medical profession. He has served as an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology with the LSU Health Sciences Center and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology in Head & Neck Surgery. Dr. Petit, licensed in the state of Louisiana, has served on the board of the American Board of Otolaryngology, and is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology- Head & Neck Surgery, the Louisiana State Medical Society and the East Baton Rouge Parish Medical Society.
Outside of his practice of medicine, Dr. Petit resides with his wife in Baton Rouge and they have three children. Among his many interests are running and swimming. He is a member of St. George Church in Baton Rouge.
